Welcome to our new home

As our business continues to grow and develop, so too must our service to customers online. jfdglobal.com succeeds jfdefence.com and divexglobal.com; both of which will be retired in the coming weeks.

Our new site was developed from the ground up with the needs of our customers front and centre. We have a new navigation structure that better reflects our broad portfolio of capabilities to both Defence and Commercial customers. Search is faster and a lot more intelligent than ever before. Related information from JFD – and across the James Fisher Group – is now much easier to locate. Content previously buried in PDFs is now available directly from the website. We’ve also made big improvements for the ever-growing number of you visiting from a mobile or tablet.

You’ll have noticed our clean new design, but the real beauty lies beneath. Dozens of little, and often invisible, improvements make the site much more convenient to use. Like how we intelligently show you the contact details for your closest point of contact on our Locations page.

We’re always grateful for your feedback, so feel free contact me with comments, suggestions or if you simply need a help finding your way. My email address is r.varcoe@jfdglobal.com.

I’m pleased to welcome you to our new website. I hope you enjoy your stay.

Exercise Black Carillon 15

Exercise Black Carillon 15

Posted by Richard Varcoe

JFD and the Royal Australian Navy have completed a comprehensive submarine escape and rescue exercise off the coast of Western Australia. Over the course of four weeks personnel and equipment from both organisations were used to practice the plans and procedures in place to respond to a submarine in distress. During the Escape phase of the exercise, personnel from JFD escaped from a bottomed submarine whilst top-side support saw them rapidly recovered and treated. The Royal Australian Air Force used the opportunity to perform a casualty evacuation from Besant, the Navy’s newest submarine escape and rescue support ship.

During the rescue phase of the exercise, the ability to locate, mate and extract personnel from a bottomed submarine was exercised.

A video showing highlights of the exercise can be found on YouTube.
